Fresno Art Museum's HERALDING exhibition follows the possibilities of handwork
A current exhibition brings more than sixty-five artists from one collection into a wider conversation about making.

A handmade object invites attention to both its shape and the decisions that produced it. A change in surface, a join or an unexpectedly thin edge can lead the eye back toward process. Fresno Art Museum's current HERALDING exhibition provides a setting for that kind of looking.
The exhibition presents more than sixty-five artists from the collection of Forrest L. Merrill and is identified as a HandWork 2026 exhibition. The museum lists it from August 1, 2026, through January 10, 2027, alongside other current shows with their own subjects and dates.
Compare two objects before reading every label. What seems repeated, and what differs in scale, texture or use of space? Then use the interpretation to identify materials and artists. The point is not to guess a technique correctly but to notice a decision you would otherwise pass over.
The museum is at 2233 North First Street, beside Radio Park. Regular hours are Thursday–Sunday, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.; adult admission is $10 and ages five–seventeen pay $7. Check current closures and ticket details. Earlier free-Sunday promotions that ended in June do not establish a free October visit.
